This breakout session will examine the increase in violence and hate crimes towards Asian American and Pacific Islander communities especially since the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic. We will explore the dynamics between Asianness, white supremacy, and antiracism. We will work together to create actionable steps individuals can take in order to dismantle racist systems created by white supremacy and promote equity building and healing amongst communities of color. Participants will engage with one another through small groups and an online discussion board. Participants will also complete an individual self-reflection activity.
