Description
This session will focus on the dissemination and practice of University of St. Thomas Land Acknowledgment as a first step in anti-racist truth-telling and actions to address historical and contemporary relations with Dakota and other Indigenous communities. The session will begin with the new St. Thomas Land Acknowledgment, a description of how it came about, and guidelines about when and how to use it. A question and answer period will follow. Participants will then be asked to reflect on when and how they will use the land acknowledgment, and how they might use an anti-racist/settler-colonial lens to examine policies, procedures, and practices in their own work.
