Phil is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has provided counseling services to many individuals, couples and families in the Twin Cities metro area for over 20 years. Phil is an innovative therapist that utilizes culture, communication skills, and interpersonal relationships to enhance the quality of relationships between individuals, couples and families. Phil received his undergraduate degree from Florida A&M University and his master’s degree in Couples and Family Therapy from UW Stout in Menomonie, WI. Phil was one of the co-founders of Kenté Circle. Phil is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and the Association of Black Psychologist.

Phil is currently a multicultural counselor at the University of St. Thomas. He provides counseling to students at University of St. Thomas in Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Dr. Bryana French, Dr. J. Phillip Rosier Jr. and Angela Mendez have facilitated BIPOC Gathering Circles which provide support to the BIPOC Community.
