Description

Educational philosopher St. Edith Stein suggested an effective educator possessed three qualities: i) a balanced temperament; ii) genuine knowledge of the subject; and iii) an impersonal love for all students. In what ways is it possible for the educator in a diverse MBA classroom to draw on these qualities to support students in de-centering whiteness both in themselves, and in the organizations in which they work, lead teams, and manage budgets? In this session participants will hear challenging classroom scenarios; collaborate in groups to devise responses; and discuss whether/how Stein’s model is sufficient in the present for addressing such challenges.
